It’s working fine in Firefox, IE, Chrome, try updating to the latest flash player version from Adobe website for your specific browser.
The description of the image does not become visible when you mouse over the image. Is this by design or is there another way to show the image description?
We’ve checked this on IE, Firefox and Chrome and the description works just fine when you mouse over the image. Make sure you have the latest Flash Player version from Adobe site installed in your browser.
Can the thumbnail scroller be vertical?
and can I hide the dropdown box?
This version is only horizontal. You can hide the dropdown by editing the .fla file in Flash and make it invisible ( set the visible property to false ).
Can Advanced Image Gallery be integrated in web application – web site – web page?
Sure, check question 1 from the FAQ area to see how to integrate it in a page of your website at:

I have this and would like to use a swf instead of a jpg file.
The below code does not work…
Simply embed your image inside a swf file and load the swf instead. We’ve sent you a swf example via email.
