do the pictures have to reside on the same server as the .swf file or can they be linked to another server. I am looking for a flash menu for my eBay homepage. I can put any html code in there but I have to reference all my image files to my external server

Hi David,
Flash has some restrictions regarding accessing data from another domain. In case of images, you can view them as long as you don’t call BitmapData.draw().
If you don’t intend to modify the fla, you should have no problem accessing the images.
For more information you can read:
http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/142/tn_14213.html (a crossdomain.xml policy file may be required in some cases)
Also, you can download the free version from http://www.flashtuning.net/free-flash-files and do some tests before buying.
If you have further questions please email us.

Don’t know what to say about how eBay / Flash objects ( swf ) integration works. But if you have integrated Flash within eBay before it is the same thing.
Basically you need to use absolute paths everywhere instead relative, inside the Flash object code use something similar to http://www.yoursite.com/etc/yourmenu.swf , the same for image urls inside the xml configuration file

Silly question. I am new to all of this. I would like to use this component on a site I am building. The images will be coming attractions to a music venue, and the bands would like their site info as a link on the image in the accordion. It looks like I can do that with this component. Can I place this in Dreamweaver CS4 and once the site is uploaded and live, will the hyperlinks be accessible in the accordion?

Hi Mark,
Yes, the accordion component supports hyperlinks, both in the text or directly on the image. If you have encounter problems getting this to work, please send an email to support [-at-] flashtuning.net

Hello,
Yes you can use the product as long as the respective websites are not commercial websites, else you need to purchase one commercial license for each commercial site or the extended license. Read more details about each license terms by mouse over the ? symbol on top of the page on the right side of the product price.

hello,
About the following feature :
“Set URL links within the description text or when pressing on individual images”
A_ Is it possible to have severals and independants links (like description text and/or individual images) in the same item? How many?
B_ the links could be text and image in a same block (icon, little image…)?
Thank you for your help

Hi,
The URL links inside the description text are just pure html hyperlinks (<a> tags). So you can theoretically create how many you want.
Please download the free watermarked version (see link in product description) and test this feature to see if it provides the functionality you need.

Hi- Bought this component and got most everything configured through XML but, I would like to change the Verdana text that displays in the title area. i noticed your comment about doing this through Flash. Problem is, if I open the provided file and re-publish – whether I change anything or not – it breaks the SWF. Basically it appears to sit and spin on the enter frames and shows the “starting point” flickering.
I’m exporting for v9 in AS3,which how the FLA file came. Any help as to what I’m doing wrong here?

I’ve already emailed you, but I’ll post the solution here for everyone.
If you are using Flasht CS4 or CS5, please export the FtScrollBar for ActionScript.
(Ctrl+L -> Assets folder -> scrollBar folder -> right click FtScrollBar -> Properties -> Check Export for ActionScript)
