    Hi,

i am a developer, I want to buy this product with “extended” license.

I will make many websites using this “X-Treme Dock Menu XML AS3″ and i then i will sell the entire website to other person to own this website as well as that “X-Treme Dock Menu XML AS3″ associated with that website. And my client wont need to buy again a “X-Treme Dock Menu XML AS3″ license for him.

For this type of business, is this “extended license” enough? or should i upgrade to any other license.

Also, already this extended license price is some what expensive , but i will buy it. But if i need to go for other license for my business, then i wont buy it.

So please let me know exactly to process things perfectly.

    Regards
    Riaz

      Hi,

      Sorry for the late reply.

Yes, you have to buy the “extended license” in order to use the “Xtreme Dock Menu XML AS3″ in commercial work. That’s all:)

oh no! I just got this plugin for commercial purposes, and I’m trying to figure it out.. Can it do the following?

1.) I need to create several different “dock menus” for different parts of the project..

2.) How can I direct the links to within the flash project rather than web pages?

    • Kee

I think I figured out the multiple dock menus, now all I need is to figure out how to put in Actionscript instead of html links.. please help! I need to get this done quickly! :(

      • Kee

I still need help with this please.. I need to control the flash when clicking on the buttons, and not URL links..

          Hi,

Sorry it took so long to reply.

To modify the click behavior you need to modify the clickFunction function inside the component.

Hopefully this reaces you in time.

Hi I purchased the following product: FTDockMenuAS3.
I followed your instructions to load a different xml file using FlashVars but does not work, can you help?
    FlashVars value = setupXMLsettings.xml.
Can you send me a html file with flashvars already set?
    Thanks

I’m Italian sorry for my English

    • FlashTuning Support

      Hi,

The FlashVars property has the following syntax:
      “setupXML=path/to/settings.xml&contentXML=path/to/content.xml”

Remember to update any file paths inside the xmls to reflect their true position on the webserver.

If you can’t manage to make it work, send me an email to support .at. flashtuning .dot. net and I’ll look over the issue.

    Hi
    Have a few questions:
Can the menu component be accessible thru component inspector, that is, can i implement it via flash extention manager?

How do I intergrate it into my regular application, using and linking to other movieclips?

    /Daniel

    • FlashTuning Support

      Hi,

The component is open source, so it’s accessible from the library (it’s basically a collection of movieclips).

If you know your way around as3, you can dispatch/listen for your own events.

    Hi there,
I just bought “X-Treme Dock Menu XML AS3″ to use in my wordpress based site. I followed the steps installing the plugin into it folder, then copied the files to wp/content, and used the tag into the html page.
No succed, i have blank space only. I’m sure i’m missing something, would appreciate your help. thanks

    • Flashtuning Support

      Hi,

Check the following steps. If you get stuck, let me know. Also provide the link where you insert the dock menu.

      1. if you have the latest version of Flash Player.
      2. if you activate the plugin
      3. the folder(flashtuning/xtreme-dock-menu) with the dock menu files is located in wp-content (e.g: http://www.yoursite.com/wp-content/flashtuning/xtreme-dock-menu)
      4. if you want to insert the menu into a post use this tag [xtreme-dock-menu], if it’s a custom template page use this function instead

      <?php xtremeDockMenuEcho(width,height) ?>

    Hello,
I can not run the FTDockMenuAS3 in my swf, that is, what does not are the actions of the mouse (not enlarged or show the tooltip of each “menuitem”)

In my swf I have the following code:
    var loader: Loader = new Loader ();
    var req: URLRequest = new URLRequest (“dockmenu.swf”);
    loader.load (req);
    addChild (loader);

    Any help is welcome
    Thanks

    Hi,

Those hidden layers were meant to be deleted some time during the development.
    I guess it was overlooked.

You should be able to delete the layers without breaking anything.

I see the hidden layers as a way to experiment and don’t usually compile them. If you do compile hidden layers (I’m guessing this makes sense from a designer point of view) always check the publish settings on the original fla.

I’ve been trying to add the menu into an existing FLA and I immediately got ‘object is null’ errors resulting in that the menu, though it was visible, would not scroll nor hover correctly, etc. It just wasn’t working right.

After a day of debugging, I found the problem and the fhe fix was simple. I needed to change the publish settings; uncheck the ‘Include hidden layers’ option. After this, everything worked perfectly.

So, why did this solve the problem?

When the dockmenu initializes, it creates instances of ft_menuItemMC from the library. The dockmenu references, BY NAME, child elements of the newly created instance.

An FTLoader object is created with the name ‘mc_Media’ and added as a child into the ft_menuItemMC instance.

In the definition of the menuItemMC component contains a hidden layer and instance object with the name mc_Media.

As a result, when getting a child by name, because hidden layers were included and those hidden layers also had the name mc_Media, the incorrect child object was found (a movie clip instead of the loader) and the object failed to coerce into the loader type.

Can this child name issue be fixed?

I Wish to change the flash background color. Can you help me ???

    Hi Angelique,

Although, I need to work a bit on the swf support, it’s basically there (the description is a bit ahead of the development).
The only problem is that if the loaded swf doesn’t include graphical elements on its entire display area, the movieclip sizes get broken.
A simple workaround to this is having a invisible (alpha==0) rectangle in your swfs, on the bottommost layer, cover the entire stage.

If you have a problem with this please email me at support at flashtuning dot net, and I’ll try to help you.

    Hi, bought your menu.
Can we use swf files instead of images? In the FEATURES above it states ‘Unlimited number of images / swf support’. But the dock-contents.xml says ‘type values: “image”‘.

We want to load seperate swf files (each containing a flv movie) instead of seperate png files.

    Hello,I’ve just bought this menu.

I’m using a CMS system which means all the extracted files can only exist under the following path /media/mywebsite.com/flash/programes/.

The actual page containing the flash will be in the root.

Where are the paths I need to update.

    many thanks

Need to know if it’s possible to get rid of external xml files.
Important because I’m gonna use it inside a CMS and loading external files is just a headache.
I suppose I can load also internal library images in the menu, rigth?

    Hi Max,

Can you edit the fla (or the fla in which you load the component) and add a invisible rectangle – roughly the same size as the dock – in a layer behind the menu?
Hopefully that will keep the mouse from rolling out completely.
If this doesn’t work (or you can’t edit the fla) email us at: (support -at- flashtuning.net) with a sample and we can try to work it out.

      Hello
It is posibile to put the swf and xml into another folder then the html file?

      • FlashTuning Support

        Hi,

Yes you can put them in different folders (you can even put each file in a different folder).
Firstly, I’d recommend linking all the files using absolute urls (the ones that start with http://, for example http://yoursite.com/flashimages/image.jpg ).
Remember, all the files: images, css, swf and xml (meaning inside both xmls and inside your own html file).

Next step is to use flashvars to load the settings and content xml. (the flashvars value should look like “setupXML=http://yoursite.com/settings.xml&contentXML=http://yoursite.com/content.xml”)
You can find some instructions about how to add FlashVars here: http://www.flashtuning.net/faq#q7

Don’t hesitate to email us if you have further questions.
