Use the attachMovie method to load an external swf in as2.
So i have bought this and got it working in the original with my own photos etc. i can export that and view that from the source .fla file.
However when i try and import this gallery into a current AS2 .Fla project. None of the buttons work and none of the images show. it has the basic loader image and the play and skip buttons etc. but none of them are clickable. and no image shows up and just sits still. (or at one point would just flash uncontrollably.)
i have followed the tutorial on adobe.com for embedding a .swf file into a .fla as2 project. and it still doesn’t want to work.
can you please help me.
i have managed to get it working using AS3. but i need it to work for as2.
I’ve purchased your Image gallery but it seems not work! If we set the two xml catalog with the same number of images the gallery works. But if we set the two xml with different number of images(3 images for catalog1 and one for catalog2), the gallery doesn’t work. is there some paramter to set?

Thank you for your purchase. If you need to use more than one gallery swf instance inside the same html page you need to use FlashVars. Check questions number 21,7,8,1 and other useful questions from the FAQ area.

Thank you for your answer, but the ask was another! The gallery seem works only if categ1.xml and categ2.xml have the same number of images: is it a bug?!
Another big problem: where we can set a different path for style.css file?? the gallery doesn’t work without css reference: and we can’t use your directory structure (css/style.css) and also the class that you use are very generic (es tag class)and they interfers with other class!

Us FlashVars if you want to use different configuration file names ( see the above questions again ). The gallery works fine with any number of images just make sure the image names / urls inside the xml config file are all lowercase and recommended is to use absolute paths instead relative.
For changing the css path edit the .fla file in Flash / edit the thumbnailsMenu clip / go to the ReadMe layer at the bottom ( line 403 ).

I put this gallery into another flash and it works in TEST Movie, but when I use browser – it doesnt. I can see buttons, play,pause btn, preloader, but nothing else (including photos, btns backgrounds, img description etc). What is wrong?

Make sure you are using avsolute paths instead relative when specifying the images inside the xml configuration files and also use lowercase for names instead uppercase like .jpg not .JPG . Also update your Flash version to at least Flash 8 or above ( mx2004 is obsolete ).
